Altered photo from the late 1940s, a studio shot of a glamorous woman, taken with vaseline on the lens, has been painted with a blue cat mask in acrylic paint. The photo also has orange footlights of sorts on the bottom, and a luxuriant arabesque of lace in pen and ink over her bare shoulder. This is one of the altered ancestor series, in which I added imagined back stories to the original photo using paint, pen and ink, and embroidery.
The piece is 6 3/8" w x 8 1/4 " tall by 3/4" thick. It has a hole drilled in the back for hanging from a nail at 45 degree angle.
