DESCRIPTION:
This is a really OUTSTANDING pair of WILLSON Steampunk goggles created from a reclaimed pair of antique WILLSON vintage goggles. This extremely unique pair features jet-black bakelite frames and dark tinted lenses This pair will also come to you with an additional pair of clear lenses, should you want to alternate the look.
CONDITION:
LENSES:
The lenses are perfect and both eyepieces are near mint. The clear lenses bear the "W" hallmark of the company. They are shown with the clear lenses inserted & you can see the black lenses ready for you to switch, if you so desire.
SIDE SHIELDS:
The sides are outfitted with black METAL perforated vents - extremely cool looking. The left and right eyepiece are joined in the center with a length of silver link chain that is covered in a brown protective coating. There is a tiny drop of black metal loss on the lens rim and if you wish, I can fix for you upon request, otherwise I am leaving them with that tiny blemish as this loans to its authentic look - being that the pair is some 70+ years old, its totally forgivable and is barely noticeable when wearing. Just mentioning it for thoroughness.
** Please look at the 4th image so you can see the insert, UP-CLOSE details of these exquisite WILLSON goggles. You will see the company name hallmarked as well the patent info. Unique to find the WILLSON name hallmarked down the side, rather than the usual horizontal signature/engraving. JUST AMAZINGLY COOL !!
STRAP:
The black elastic adjustable head strap feels like strong & sturdy and been replaced from the stretched out elastic that were on this pair when first obtained - they are now fully functional and will sit firmly over your eyes or strapped onto a cool Top hat or Bowler or any style head gear you would want to adorn for extra Steamy-ness when outfitting your Vintage Steampunk outfit. . This is an outrageous pair of goggles - the icing on the cake for any Steampunk wardrobe or a perfect biker accessory!
MEASUREMENTS:
The goggles measure approximately 130mm wide from edge to edge and the lenses measure approximately 52mm high, including the frames - please consider the dimensions when selecting any pair of goggles, and if you have a question please don't hesitate to ask.
